In her first book in the series of books titled Miesies, Elizabeth Wilson, 54, details her upbringing, how she was raised by her grandmother in Beaufort West, and the circumstances that led to her life today (“Ottery woman gets chance to tell her story”, Southern Mail, March 15, 2023)

Ms Wilson’s lifelong dream to publish her story became a reality when her son offered to publish her manuscript as a gift after many failed attempts at publishers. The rejections, however, fuelled her dream even more and she continued working on it and encouraged others to not give up on their dreams.

The title of her book, Miesies, is a nickname her grandmother affectionately called her when she was a child.

Both of the follow-up books were published this year and will be released next month. The first book called Many Moons Ago delves into Ms Wilson’s school years at Lotus High School in Ottery.
