Two men, aged 29 and 17, from Hout Bay, who were also on the boat, managed to get to safety at the Cape Point main gate and reported the incident

National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) spokesperson Craig Lambinon said that NSRI Kommetjie, NSRI Simonstown, and NSRI Hout Bay duty crews were activated after Cape Medical Response (CMR) had received the call from SA National Parks rangers (TMNP – Table Mountain National Parks).

The two survivors were treated by CMR paramedics and they were transported to the hospital, both suffering injuries but both in stable conditions.
