Pupils get guidance at career expo

Among the exhibitors at the expo were various City of Cape Town fire departments and Harare police station.The library teemed with pupils from several schools who asked the exhibitors tough questions.

Acting Principal Librarian at Kuyasa library, Vuyokazi Njambathwa, believes that education is a powerful driver for development and one of the strongest instruments for reducing poverty.

Informed by trends and marketplace demands, she said the expo aimed at steering pupils towards careers in scarce and critical skills fields, such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), finance and health.

She believes that to further their studies, they must know that universities are a different ball game.
