Power System to Remain Constrained

The power system is expected to remain constrained for the rest of this week due to technical issues experienced at some power stations, says Eskom.

Eskom on Wednesday afternoon appealed to consumers to switch off geysers, pool pumps and all non-essential appliances in the evening so as prevent the need for rotational load shedding.

“The power system is severely constrained today and will remain so for the rest of the week. This is due to technical problems experienced at some of our power stations and the loss of additional generating units,” said Eskom.

The utility has alerted key industrial customers about the matter and asked them to reduce their load by a minimum 10%.
