Minister Michael Masutha Hands Over Furniture to Limpopo Schools, 8 to 9 Sept

The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Adv. Michael Masutha, will visit Siloe School for the Blind and SJ van der Merwe Technical School in Limpopo, on 8 and 9 September respectively, to hand over beds, cabinets and a Math's and Science block of classrooms built by inmates from the Thohoyandou Management Area and parolees from the Polokwane Management Area.

In line with the positive role of corrections in uplifting communities through supporting and maintaining public infrastructure, Correctional Services (DCS) is championing a focused offender rehabilitation and reintegration programme as a symbol of its commitment in creating a just society. Minister Masutha will use the two days to lift the veil on how offenders give real meaning to a working society through education and skills development training.

Siloe School for the Blind has been benefiting from DCS for the past four years through renovations and infrastructure maintenance. The injection of 43 beds and 26 cabinets will give this public school much needed assistance against its strained resources.
