Limpopo Legislature on Palabora Mining Company

Statement by the Portfolio Committee on Economic Development on their meeting with the Palabora Mining CompanyThe Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Economic Development, Environment and Tourism in the Limpopo Legislature, Hon Speedo Dau, has send messages of condolences to the families of the 6 miners who died at the Palabora Mining Company. Hon Dau said that as a Committee they were satisfied with the multi-stakeholder engagement and their endeavors to ensure that a similar incident does not repeat itself at the operation.

Hon Dau led a multi-party delegation of members of the Portfolio Committee on a fact finding mission, at the Palabora Mining Company. The Mine had a fatality on Sun, 15 July 2018, and part of the meeting was to brief the Portfolio Committee on measures to prevent a similar incident in the future.
