BIENNIAL CONFERENCE OF THE ECONOMIC SOCIETY OF

SOUTH AFRICA 3 –5 SEPTEMBER 2019, JOHANNESBURG

1. CALL FOR PAPERS

The Economic Society of South Africa i s honoured to invite submissions for the Society’s

biennial conference from 3 to 5 September 2019. Papers are invited across all fields of

economics, including, but not limited to the following: macroeconomics, growt h, devel-

opment and poverty, monetary economics and policy, industrial organisation, interna-

tional trade and finance, fina nce, labour, transport, health, environmental & resource

economics, fisca l policy and public economics, political economy, economic history and

methodolog y.

Arrangements for submissions. Abstract s are to be submitted via the ESSA website.

Abstracts are limited to 300 words and should include a clear indication of the research

question and method used. The conference academic committee will evaluate al l sub-

missions with the help of peer reviews. A max imum of two submissions per presenter

will be accepted.
