EDITORIAL

A substantial section of this edition is devoted to issues pertaining to constitutional

and other forms of legal protection for socio-economic rights. We are publishing the

inaugural address of Prof Sandy Liebenberg, our Stellenbosch colleague who is the

incumbent of the Harry Oppenheimer Chair in Human Rights at the US Faculty of

Law. Together with that we are also publishing a lecture of Judge of Appeal Edwin

Cameron on HIV/AIDS as well as a complete manual on HIV/AIDS and the law by

courtesy (also) of Judge Cameron. We trust that this will be of value to our readers as

well as others who are in some or other way involved with HIV/AIDS related issues.
