The appellant was tried by a Judge and assessors in the Paarl Circuit Court on a charge of murder, was convicted and, extenuating circumstances being found, was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment with hard labour. Leave to appeal was granted by this Court after it had been refused by the trial Judge.
